Air Source Heat pumps

Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPS) are used to absorb heat from outdoor air. It is then possible to store the energy and use it to heat radiators, underfloor heaters and water. Although Air Source Heat Pumps need electricity to function, they are absorbing heat from the air which is renewed naturally, which makes it a much more efficient system than more traditional heaters

Ground Source Heat pumps

The Green Deal will incorporate Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHPS) which are low carbon heat generators. They work by pumping a mixture of water and antifreeze around a circular pipe system which is buried underground. The liquid absorbs heat from the ground and maintains a temperature of around 13-15°C. This can then be used to heat radiators, under floor heating and to heat water. Ground Source Heat Pumps offer a variety of benefits which make it an ideal Green Deal tool.
